My senior exhibition project was two 10 x 12 ft papel picados featuring symbols that are representative of either Mexican culture or Chicano culture as well as items that function as both.

If you opened a locker, what would you least expect to see? My answer? A two story brick facade featuring an art studio above a Blockbuster, complete with tiny DVDS.

What happens when you make a piece reflective? By taking a Papel Picado, normally used in Mexican celebrations, and making it reflective, the piece asks the audience to think about their connection to Mexican culture as well as their own culture.
